With training from Northwestern and accolades like the Roger Voisin Award, Muckey’s career includes solo and ensemble performances around the world. He balances life with music, family, golf, and international travel. Matthew Muckey is an award-winning classical trumpet player with deep roots in performance and education. From NPR features to global concerts, he’s established himself as a musical force. He lives in New York with his family and enjoys golf, fishing, and exploring the world’s cultural treasures.

  Matthew Muckey is a celebrated classical trumpeter from California. He studied under Charles Geyer and Barbara Butler at Northwestern and quickly joined the New York Philharmonic. His global performances and awards showcase his artistry, while his offstage time is devoted to golf, fishing, and raising his two kids in New York. With decades of experience and worldwide recognition, Matthew Muckey brings passion and excellence to classical trumpet performance. He joined the New York Philharmonic right after graduating from Northwestern. He’s also a Tanglewood Fellow, Roger Voisin Award winner, and enthusiastic family man who enjoys outdoor sports, travel, and time on the golf course.
